Hauraki Rail Trail 5 Days  E-Bike Hauraki Rail Trail “Kaiaua-Miranda to Matamata” (175kms to 210kms) -includes 4 nights accommodation  $969pp (Min 2) includes a Free Te Aroha mineral Spa (Min of 2 persons per booking -shared accommodation)

Breath-taking ocean and mountain vistas, Lush, rolling farming countryside, stunning rivers and streams babbling over rocky waterfalls, “historic” train and tunnel ride (in season), gold mining, cheese factory, winery……. mineral Spa Te Aroha or Miranda… and Hobbiton-Matamata

5 Day (Cruising) – 175-210 kms
This 5 day ride gives you the opportunity to cruise along and get off the Hauraki Rail Trail and see some of the attractions and activities this area has to offer. At Matamata you can visit Hobbiton Or get the shuttle back to Auckland Airport.

Day 1 – Kaiaua/Miranda to Thames (55kms)
Ride along stop banks beside the Firth of Thames taking in the Kaiaua Shore Birds, lush farm lands and wetlands with magnificent views to the Coromandel Ranges. Secure parking is available at Miranda Hot Springs ($20 per day)

Day 2 – Thames to Paeroa (34kms)
Stop at cafés along the way to refuel before taking a look at the antique shops of Paeroa.

Day 3 – Paeroa to Waihi (24kms)
Take time to explore the majestic Karangahake Gorge, swim at one of the swimming spots along the way.  Enjoy a goldmine tour while in Waihi.

Day 4 – Waihi to Te Aroha (47kms)
Starts at the Waihi Railway station ride  back to Waikino, and enjoy the downhill ride through the Karangahake Gorge back to Paeroa. Follow the Hauraki Rail  Trail South to Te Aroha and finish off with a soak at the Te Aroha Mineral Spa.

Day 5-Te Aroha to Matamata ( Hobbiton)

Take the trail South out of Te Aroha township and follow the trail to West Te Aroha ( great Cafe here) and later via Manawaru along the base of the beautiful Kaimai Ranges to the beautiful Matamata( home of the Hobbiton and 20+ cafes and restaurants)

Starting at the seaside town of Kaiaua (10kms North of Miranda) and finishing at Matamata which is less than 1.5 hours drive from Auckland International Airport, you can get your slice of New Zealand in a five  day fix to experience the diversity of our country.

The Hauraki Rail Trail is just about all flat trail while winding through rural New Zealand heartland that will seem light years away from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

The experience will be much easier and fun on our electric ebikes and best done on a 5 day 4 night basis. ( based on 2 shared accommodation)

Tour: Starts  Kaiaua/Miranda  finish at Te Aroha  via Thames- Paeroa-Waihi to Paeroa to Te Aroha-to Matamata(Hobbiton)

Tour Time : 5 days  Four nights, subject to weather

General Info: Appropriate clothes to wear include shorts and/or close fitting track pants, sport shoes, t-shirt/polo, Jersey, sunglasses or safety glasses. Limited overnight apparel.
Transportion to the start point is  included and is arranged to Auckland Airport.

START Point:  Start  point of HRT approx 9kms East of  Kaiaua (on East-Coast Road) close to  Miranda

Ending  Point: – Matamata Isite

Shuttle : to Auckland , Tauranga, Hamilton. or Rotorua can be arranged for a small charge per person extra $60 per head
